On Wednesday 30 November, Cirrus and Ipsos LEAD welcomed guests from a range of organisations including Anthony Nolan, BAE, BLM, BT, Bupa, The Crown Estate, Freshfields, GSK, MetLife and Royal Mail to The Ivy Market Grill in London’s Covent Garden.
We hosted a roundtable discussion over breakfast to explore the theme of transformation as part of Cirrus and Ipsos LEAD’s ongoing Leadership Connections research. Over the past two years, Leadership Connections has explored how HR leaders connect with the C-suite, contribute to strategy, and develop agility and innovation. The results have sparked much interesting debate across the HR community and beyond.
To explore the role of HR in transforming organisations, the roundtable discussion was introduced by Sean Mills, Executive Director of Ipsos LEAD, and Dr Simon Hayward, CEO of Cirrus. They highlighted how much the pace and frequency of transformation has increased as the world becomes less predictable.
The model of Connected Leadership, explored in Simon Hayward in his acclaimed business book, provided a helpful lens for our discussion as we explored how to create sustainable transformation across organisations.
Guests around the table shared insights into:
- how we can inspire and connect leaders across the organisation
- how we can engage colleagues with transformation initiatives
- how we can create cultures of empowerment.
This discussion has helped us to clarify the direction of our research into transformation, which will be published in Spring 2017.
