Dr Simon Hayward, CEO of Cirrus, is presenting at an Innovation Roundtable® workshop hosted by GE Power in Berlin on 26 February. The overall theme of the event is, ‘Agile and Lean Startup Culture: Transforming Established Firms into Agile and Innovative Organisations with a Mindset of Experimentation and New Growth.’
Simon will be representing Alliance Manchester Business School, where he is an Honorary Professor and is currently conducting research into agile team working.
During his interactive session, ‘How Agile Leadership Can Transform Your Business: A Blueprint for Change in Our Digital Age’, Simon will explore what it means to be an agile leader, providing practical advice and drawing on real-world examples to explore how to:
- Become a more agile leader, step-by-step
- Overcome the barriers to agility
- Adapt to ever-changing competitive conditions
- Develop agile teams that in turn create agile organisations
- Build an agile business that is innovative, customer-centred, and focused on achieving goals.
There will be a structured group discussion around the eight ways to scale agile, focusing on how to become a more agile leader, overcome the barriers to agility, develop agile teams and organisations, and build an agile business that is innovative, customer-centred, and focused on achieving goals.
The event also features presentations from GE, Volkswagen, Bayer and Lufthansa. Speakers will explore different elements of the journey towards creating more agile organisations, such as cultural transformation, cross-functional team working and collaboration.
Innovation Roundtable® facilitates connections between innovation leaders, in a setting where they can learn about best practices from executive speakers, discuss selected innovation topics, and share experiences with peers. The network and events are exclusively for multinational firms and provide a unique source of inspiration and new ideas for leaders, helping them create an even stronger foundation for innovation in their companies.
Simon’s most recent book, The Agile Leader, was published by Kogan Page in 2018. His previous book, Connected Leadership, was published by FT Publishing in 2016 and was shortlisted for UK Management Book of the Year by the Chartered Management Institute and the British Library. Simon has also had chapters published in the Palgrave Handbook of Leadership in Transforming Asia (2017), which explored Connected Leadership in the Asian context, and the Sage Handbook of Qualitative Business and Management Research Methods (2017).
