Our Head of Talent helps people reach their full potential

“Ultimately, talent is what gives an organisation its competitive advantage,” says Nadine Smart, Head of Talent at Cirrus. While most organisations agree that people are their most important asset, Nadine believes that many could do more not only to attract and select the right candidates, but also to make the most of them once they’re in place.

“When I work with clients who really believe in selecting and promoting great people and then creating an environment to help them be at their best, genuinely focused on individual as well as organisational needs, we see tremendous results,” says Nadine.

The many major clients Nadine works in partnership with include PayPal, Allianz and Three. She leads a team of talent experts who combine hands-on business expertise with academic rigour to create very pragmatic, value-adding solutions.

“As business environments become more complex, we have expanded the services we offer,” says Nadine. “The team delivers a range of talent solutions from strategic talent projects, full-service assessment design and implementation across all levels in the organisation to the bespoke design of complex organisational talent mechanisms.”

Underpinning all of Nadine’s work is a desire to deliver approaches that are robust and sustainable so that they genuinely work for the individual and organisation. She also works closely with colleagues who are experts in leadership and engagement to create powerful, integrated programmes that have lasting impact. “It’s all about discovering, developing and retaining valuable talent to transform organisations.”

Digital is also now core to the Cirrus talent offering. “From providing online profiling tools to creating sophisticated portals, we create an impactful learning experience for key talent groups,” says Nadine. “Digital solutions can also help international clients to manage talent on a global scale.”

A highly qualified, chartered business psychologist, Nadine has extensive senior leadership experience. Qualifications include an MBA, an MSc in Occupational Psychology, and an MA (Hons) in Psychology and Spanish. She is a founding member of the Association of Business Psychologists and has also worked with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) to develop an assessment process for HR professionals.
