Simon Hayward presents at BAM conference

by | Sep 8, 2015 | News

Dr Simon Hayward, CEO of Cirrus, is presenting a paper at the prestigious British Academy of Management (BAM) Annual Conference this week.

BAM is the leading authority on the academic field of management in the UK, supporting and representing a community of scholars and engaging with international peers. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘The Value of Pluralism in Advancing Management Research, Education and Practice’ and it is hosted by The University of Portsmouth from 8 – 10 September 2015.

Simon’s presentation on Thursday morning will focus on, ‘How the transition to distributed leadership in large organisations can increase levels of inclusion.’

Earlier this year, Simon gained a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from Manchester Business School. His doctoral research focused on distributed leadership theory, and included reference to complexity leadership and authentic leadership. Simon identified the five factors which help to accelerate the transition to a more distributed style of leadership – the factors which now form the basis of the Cirrus Connected Leadership model.

Building on this doctoral research, Simon has written a book to explore how Connected Leadership works in practice. The book, Connected Leadership: How to Build a More Agile, Customer-Driven Business, will be published by FT Publishing in December and is available to pre-order on Amazon now. It provides a clear, practical guide for business leaders who wish to create a more connected, agile and customer-oriented organisation in a digitally connected, customer-driven 21st century business environment.

At the BAM conference, Simon will spend time at the ‘Meet The Authors’ table to discuss Connected Leadership with delegates.
